As dog walkers and owners ourselves, we’ve traversed every part of Philadelphia with a pup. Morning walks seeking coffee, afternoon trips to dog parks, and late night cravings inform our top picks for friendly venues. We’ve got choices for you whether you’re in Center City, University City or even Fishtown. Keep scrolling for your next destination!

Yummy Bakeries and Cafés

White Dog Café in University City

Decorated with paintings and statues of dogs, this well-named spot provides water bowls and fenced-in outdoor dining. If you’re lucky, your server may even bring your dog a treat.

Metropolitan Bakery in Rittenhouse Square

Nearby residents rave about this spot’s flourless chocolate cake and great bread assortment. Plus, for 70 cents a piece, they have doggie treats made with all natural bacon fat, egg, and flour.

Cake Life Bake Shop in Fishtown

Not only does this bakery have peanut butter dog treats ready for purchase, but they also made a birthday cake for Beyoncé in 2017! If it can please Beyoncé’s superstar standards, it sure pleases us.

Good Karma Café in East Passyunk

Right near Schuylkill River Park Dog Run, you’ll find this café with lots of patio space. Grab the local favorite Brown Bear latté, some water for your dog at the outside bowl and rest on the cozy back patio together.

Fun Dog Parks

Schuylkill River Park Dog Run in Fitler Square

Tired of your pup’s paws being muddy after a walk? With two courtyards of synthetic grass that separate large and small dogs, a view of the river and drinking fountains, this dog park is perfect for you.

Orianna Hill Dog Park in Northern Liberties

This acre-sized, members-only park has lots of wood chips, Yappy Hours sponsored by local breweries, and even art dog-inspired art installations.

Market Street Dog Run in Old City

This graveled half-block is a must visit for its views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and boats traveling down the Delaware River.

Seger Park Dog Run in Washington Square West

With nearly 10,000 square feet, this dog park is adored by its neighbors for their seasonal events. They put on a Woofstock live-music event in the summer, Howl-o-ween in the fall, and Santa Paws in the winter. We highly recommend checking their Instagram page for cute costume pics!

Delicious Restaurants

Morgan’s Pier in Old City

Located on the Delaware Riverfront, this beer garden hosts an awesome view. Head to a Yappy Hour with your dog where proceeds benefit the PSPCA (Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)!

Bok Bar in Wharton

Known for its Middle Eastern-inspired fare and awesome rooftop location, this spot opens to pups every Sunday (with water bowls available, of course). Enjoy the views, beer, and bites with your furry friend.

Square 1682 in Center City

Every weekend, this restaurant hosts Bring Your Own Dog (BYOD) brunch featuring a “Four Legged Friends” that donates to PSPCA and Operation Ava. Order dirty rice (beef and veggies) for your dog and a cocktail for yourself to enjoy on the patio.

Buena Onda near Logan Square

Who doesn’t love chips and guac? Bring the kids (furry and not) for fresh fish tacos, dog-friendly patios and plenty of water bowls.
