Sunday, December 8th, 1pm-4pm
Come on out to a South Philly gem. Seger Dog Park is a beautiful place for dogs to play in. On December 8th Seger Dog Park is transformed into a winter wonderland where dogs and their owners can celebrate the holidays with wintery drinks and an opportunity to take photos with Santa. A professional photographer will be there to capture your pics with Santa and are available for download after the event. Seger Dog Park will also be collecting donations to benefit the local animal rescue group, Saved Me. Seger Dog Park offers a robust schedule of fun community events throughout the year- you can see pictures from their Howl-O-Ween event here. This event is free of charge and open to all.
Friday, December 20th, 6pm-7:30pm
The Pet Friendly Dog Bakery in Manayunk always has great events for pet owners to meet together. This event brings a new twist to a favorite holiday tradition, the ugly sweater party! Pet owners are encouraged to bring their dogs in their favorite ugly sweater for an event that promises plenty of treats and good times. The Pet Friendly Dog Bakery will offer gift bags to each 4-legged guest as well as beer samples for humans and dogs alike (yes, dog beer!). The event is free of charge.
November 28th-December 24th
The Philadelphia Christmas Village has become an iconic tradition. The traditional German-style market sits in the shadow of picturesque City Hall in Love Park. The village offers over 80 vendors serving traditional European foods, ornaments, and arts & crafts. There is also a large list of events, including a section for dog-friendly events highlighted on their page. PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) will be at the village hosting adoptions and raising money for their efforts. Beyond the village, you are just steps away from Dilworth Park which has an ice skating rink and plenty of other events for the holiday season. This event is free to explore.
November 14th– December 31st (Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day) 4pm-8pm
Franklin Square is an amazing place full of fun and sights. During the holiday season, the square is lit up and comes alive with fun for all. The highlight of the Holiday Festival is the Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show presented by PECO which is a free light show that features 80,000 lights set to a soundtrack of holiday favorites. Some of these shows are even performed live by The Philly POPS! Shows run every 30 minutes beginning at 4pm daily and run until 8pm; 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Sunday, December 15th, 1pm-6pm
Warehouse on Watts is normally known for its punk flea markets and live music events, but on December 15th they open their doors for a pet-friendly holiday market with tons of fun. The event boasts a photo booth with Santa Paws, a craft corner, treats for all, a card-making table, an adoption event and more. This is a great opportunity to find gifts for all the furry friends on your list while enjoying some quality *heated* activities with your pet. There is also a full bar with hot spike cider and plenty of other entertainment that is perfect for everyone in your party. Best of all this event is free to attend!
